Beary and the Letter I

This week was Zachariah’s turn to bring home “Beary” the class teddy bear. Beary goes on a Bear Hunt every week to find the letter of the week. This week is Letter I. The following was entered into Zachariah’s class journal about our adventure!!

Zachariah was very excited to have beary as his VIP friend.

Shortly after arriving at our house, Zachariah and Beary sat down and watched Imagination Movers and played musical instruments together. letteri 001

Then, we had a special “I” supper. Mommy made our chicken strips look like the letter I and then served us shaved Ice for our drink. Zachariah and Beary had blue ice.

After supper, Zachariah helped Beary find all the pictures in an I-Spy book.letteri 006

After Daddy got home, Zachariah, Beary and Mommy went on a special adventure in the rain! First, we went to the Library to find books that started with the letter I...we found two books. An Island In The Soup and The Incredible Shrinking Teacher named Irma. Both books are very good books. Then we went to Borders to pick out a special book because Zachariah earned 5 happy heart stickers for obeying his mommy and Mrs. Janet! He picked out the book Curious George goes to an Ice Cream Shop. Zachariah wanted some ice cream, but it was too cold..so Mommy bought hot chocolate instead. Yum! Lastly, we stopped at Walmart to buy supplies for a special “I” cooking project for Tuesday.

After breakfast Tuesday morning, Zachariah and beary made an Island picture to help them learn about the letter I.letteri 008letteri 010

Then We went outside to look for insects.letteri 016

For lunch, mommy used an iron to make a grill cheese sandwich. She didn't even have to put it in a pan. She just wrapped the sandwich in wax paper and then ironed it. It was so cool.

After nap time, Mommy read us a book about Indians. She said we would learn more about Indians in November. She also taught us that pictures are also called illustrations.

She also found a few more I books on her bookshelf, I Love You the Purplest, I Heard Said the Bird, I'm a Little Teapot, and I Call My Hand Gentle. She saved these for our Tuesday night babysitter to read to us, before tucking us into bed! letteri 018

Ps...I am 34 inches tall!

You're such a good mom! Wyatt's class probably does all this and I'm the mom who doesn't help him at home. He goes to such a wonderful school. He's always bringing home "assignments" and I'm thinking, "Are you kidding me?"

This is where it really helps to have 3 kids about the same age!!! They are all about on the same learning level...yesterday, I put on a T-shirt that has the number 19 on it..and when I went to get Ava out of her crib after nap..she looked up and pointed to the 1 and said "I" that made me so happy...she is getting it too!
