About 6 months ago I found Grasshopper Preschool Prep on facebook and “liked” them. Each week since then, the company has sent via face book a free fine motor suggestion to do with the kids.
A week or so before Christmas I entered a face book contest where I submitted an activity that I did with my children that was not TV. Then one day when I got on my computer, I discovered that I won the contest. I was so excited!! The prize was a free Grasshopper Preschool Prep Kit…a $30 value.
Today (right in the middle of nap time!) I heard the BANG! BANG! BANG! from the FEDEX man…and one of my kids jumped out of bed and exclaimed “ a package is here!” I was hopeful that our Grasshopper Preschool Prep Snip, Glue and Grow Kit
So we did…our first activity is called “Fuzzy Fun”
I outlined a bear in glue and Levi used tongs to get small pom-poms and place them on the glue dots.
We left our materials out on the train table…and when I heard Ava out of her bed after nap…I went upstairs and saw this:
This proves that the program does work with a child’s natural gravitation towards play and allows them to learn in a kid-friendly environment.
“Fuzzy Fun” helps your child have ease with a hand action similar to the opening and closing of scissors. It also helps establish the boundaries to assist with coloring within the lines.
The 2nd activity we did is called “Bubble Time.” This activity helps strengthen the muscles in the hand and again helps with the ease of opening and closing scissors.
Thank you so much to Rachel Rudman,an occupational therapist with an advanced specialty in pediatrics for this amazing product and I am excited to also try Grasshopper Preschool Prep ABCs and Simple Shapes & Following Directions Kits
Please check out Grasshopper Preschool Prep on Facebook and tell them TripleSmiles sent you!
I will highlight the rest of the activities in the kit….as we work on them daily during our fine motor practice time!
