Road Trip USA

As an “official” first year homeschooling mom, I am constantly looking for “what works, what doesn’t” Some great advice from Sally Clarkson has been…”don’t fill in all the blanks, if its not working…throw it out” I am not a “fill in the blank” homeschooling mom anyway, but you get the gist of her advice. Anyway, I recently stumbled upon
Road Trip USA and I love it!!! I am personally planning to use it every time we visit a new state. We travel so often with both sets of Grandparents out of town that I am hoping this is a natural way to take our learning with us every time we get in the car/van/plane.
On our first day back from a much needed 2 week break, we “re-visited” New Mexico!

Because this was our first “entry” we had to set up our notebooks.

Inside our front pocket is our passports, and Map of the whole United States.

After completing a coloring sheet on each state, they will glue the state flag into their passport. Then they will color that state on our map.

This curriculum is jammed packed with complete lesson plans and activities on every state. This is how we are starting, but as they grow and get older I am excited to have lesson plans to grow with probably all the way to 4th or 5th grade.
Here are a few more pictures from our recent trip to New Mexico!

I’ll post some more specific ski pictures soon!
