Family Tradition Tree

IMG_9026

OH.MY.WORD. This turned out so cute, I had to share.  One of Ava’s Kindergarten Assignments was to create a family tree showing Christmas Traditions. She was given the choice between drawing a tree or using an actual tree. In the directions was also the kind reminder that 90% of the work needed to be done BY THE CHILDSmile)!!

So, I had an idea of having her fill clear Christmas ornaments of pictures of our traditions. She liked the idea but when I got on Pinterest to show her, she saw lots of other ideas of things we could put in the balls.

We made a list together of the traditions she remembers. Together we looked through pictures and I let her decide which ones we would print.

She then went through my craft box and started filling balls with things that would fit in the ornament. IT.WAS.SO. MUCH FUN. And thus I believe creating a new tradition, each year of letting all 3 children remember their favorite things from the year and make ornaments.

So without further ado……

I will add, all the ideas were hers but I did have to help her….she picked the ribbon, I made the bows. I had to roll the pictures, but she put them in the balls. I let her use anything she wanted in my craft box and let her decide what it represented. That’s 90% right??!!!

From Our House to Yours, Merry Christmas!
