REWIND…..

I must admit, I am little shocked to have neglected this blog.o.mine for the past 2 months.
Its been a fun, but crazy couple of months.
I think I’ll go back to early March. Our baby girl was the FIRST of the TripleSmiles to lose her first tooth. This was so exciting for her to finally have done something before “her boys.”

In mid March, we celebrated Zachariah’s 7th birthday a little early, because we had plans to be in TN for his actual birthday that he shares with his nana.
We had a Monster Theme Truck Party. IMG_20130312_071015IMG_20130312_102942
Now…pause for a moment. My big toe hurts. Its just sore, it will get better. After telling myself this for DAYS, I finally broke down and went to the doctor. Guess what? Staph Infection. Yep! After spending several hours at the Urgent Care, and after having a minor surgical procedure, I went back home and started getting this ready:

Because after all….guest were arriving at 10:00am! The Party MUST go on….despite how bad my toe hurt.

This boy was in Monster Truck Heaven!

Then AFTER The party, I got to go BACK to the Dr. because my big toe had gotten huge again. I had to have another procedure and was told to come back Friday. FRIDAY? What, I m leaving town tomorrow to go to TN…..and I hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit….SLOW DOWN.
Ok, so Friday, I checked in and out of the doctor…and off we went to Nana’s.
This is the first time I have attempted this trip alone and the kids did SUPER! We had lots of activities and snacks to keep us busy.

We had a sheet from Every state to go in our USA Road Trip Notebooks.

On our trip….we stopped in Atlanta Georgia to visit cousins…and also a trip to Stone Mountain.
I love this picture!

After stopping in Atlanta, we headed on over the TN border to see Nana. There is never a shortage of things to do at Nana’s and this time was no exception.
This time…..we…….
Visited the Titanic Museum. This is probably now in the top 5 of the best things we’ve ever done!
IMG_20130319_132553
We were able to pan for gold!

And our sweet Nana and Papa treated us the Wilderness of the Smokies Waterpark for a day.

This was on Zach’s ……and his Nana’s actual birthday! He was 7….and she was 70!

End of Vacation

As summer winds down, I need to finish up on my summer blogin’.
Before we left Tennessee Nana treated us to a Dinner Show at Dolly’s Dixie Stampede.

By the looks of the picture below….kids were NOT too excited about this……..(Isn’t this just hilarious!??)
IMG_6577
However their frowns turned upside down REAL quick when the waitress brought them…..IMG_6574IMG_6576IMG_6580
Ava enjoyed “drinking” her soup.

I must add when the waitress sat us down and explained to us that we were part of the “North” and we would be fighting against the “South” my mom started laughing as if it was the funniest thing in the world that Scarlett O Hara had been seated on the wrong side. IMG_6584
Levi Cheering for his team!

So fun! Thanks to Nana!
On our way back west, we took a Pit Stop at the Casey Jones Train Shop. This is always a fun stop because the kids can stretch their legs and climb aboard some trains and have some fun.

This is random, but this is Levi working a puzzle on the way home on his car tray.

Zach was loaded up with lots of new cars from Nana’s playroom, so he was super engaged racing them around!

Apples and Waterfalls

Thought I’d take a minute to finish blogging   about our trip. After we got home from our trip our life went into whirlwind mode. First,  our middle child had strep throat…which he lovingly passed to his mama…..and because that wasn’t enough excitement for him, he ended up in Children’s Hospital one night after falling 6 feet from playground equipment! Thankfully he checked out ok, but it was enough to keep me off the computer for a whileSmile
So….back to our trip. One morning we woke up and headed to The Apple Barn!
IMG_6522The Apple Barn is an old farmhouse that has the most delicious breakfast this side of the Mason Dixon Line….well probably the most delicious breakfast either side of the Mason Dixon line.

Now that Levi can read….there was no “missing out” on this:

After such a hearty breakfast, Gordon wanted to try a hike…so we headed to the Great Smoky Mountain to find a trail that we though the kids would enjoy!
When we started the hike, we were all smilesSmile

However, after 1.5 miles of hiking…and getting POURED on the last .30 miles, our smiles started to fade…
IMG_6565IMG_6564IMG_6568
Ahhh…but look sweet TripleSmiles, at God’s Amazing Creation….right up closeSmile
IMG_6558
Or lets get a little bit closer…..
IMG_6560
You know what, your already wet, just get IN and PLAY!
