Celebrating the Resurrection!

This is a fun activity and a very visual way to teach preschoolers about the Resurrection of Jesus!
I gave each child a marshmallow and a triangle of a crescent roll. The marshmallow represents Jesus body.  After dipping the marshmallow in butter (oil) each child rolled their marshmallow in sugar and cinnamon. (Spices used to anoint the body of Jesus)

Then they wrap the marshmallow tight into the crescent roll. (Wrapping of Jesus body after death)

Then, place in the oven (TOMB) at 350 for about 10 minutes.

While we were waiting our “3 days” I played the DVD of Miss Patty Cake’s song “Resurrection Day”

And then…..guess what!? Jesus is no longer in the cloth….He Is Risen!

Later and after a 4 hour nap! (Whoo hoo!)
I buried our Resurrection Eggs in our sensory table.

This year, I numbered each egg and the children had to hunt for the numbers I assigned them.

I told them the story of Easter egg by egg. I found a more “preschool friendly” version of the Resurrection Eggs over at Carissa's site.

May you and your family have a wonderful Easter celebrating the Resurrection of our Risen Lord!

Beautiful Feet

I praise you God, because Zachariah, Levi and Ava are fearfully and wonderfully made………right down to their cute little feet!

My kids were recently ask to be “models” for a photo shoot.  Check out more of Charlotte’s work over at The Past That Last. Charlotte is a fun, creative photographer and the kids loved her. She is having a fun feet day soon where you could get your kids feet photographed on April 16th. She has offered TripleSmile readers a price of $20 for the sitting fee and 60% off of your printed photo. If you have boys especially…I hear their feet won’t always be so cute and adorable! One day…they will be BIG and stinky….so capture how cute they are now:)

Soccer Saturdays!

The Rules of Soccer Are Very Simple….If it moves…kick it. If it doesn’t move….kick it until it does!
IMG_9102
Well both boys are playing soccer this season! Our season with Levi started off on a rocky foot when I took him to the soccer field to play on a 40 degree day with a wind chill of about 0…..with no coat or anything to put on under his uniform. I know Mom of the Year Right? Lucky for me we are on a team of parents who actually know what they are doing…and had Levi nice and toasty within a few minutes with extra clothes they had bagged!  Since that cold day, Levi has really had a hard time “getting into the game" I am trying to find the balance between making him finish the season, respecting his bent and making sure we give the bent enough time to develop.
Today’s warm ups went well….He IS STANDING!
