Gordon and Levi went a few days ahead of the rest of the family…..Levi really enjoyed some time with Daddy alone. The highlight of his 1 on 1 time was getting to go “up” in Grandpa’s airplane with Grandpa and Daddy.
It didn’t take terribly long after the rest of us got there for Zachariah to ask for his turn…..
In the past when we have visited Michigan, I have tried to arrange to borrow toys, etc to keep the kids entertained. I wanted to challenge myself this trip to find things that were free….or at least almost free…to occupy their time.
We are members of the Dallas Zoo…so that membership allowed us to visit the Detroit Zoo at 50% off…..so I’ll let that slide into the almost free (per person!)category!
It figures that the weather was unseasonably warm while we were there…however, there was one VERY COOL place in the Zoo. Out of all the adventures Triple Smiles have been able to participate in,this exhibit takes the #1 spot…hands down!
The Zoo has an AMAZING Artic Experience awaiting for its visitors. The Polar Bears get up close and personal with the guest!
At the exit of the building, children are invited to feel how cold the Artic temperature is!
After leaving the Polar Bear Exhibit….Ava decided she would figure out how to get to the snack bar!
Instead, she decided she needed to “rest like the Zebras!”
Meanwhile…..the boys found a Pirate Ship play area! SUPER fun….and very unique!
We also took a fun train ride around the Zoo.
We saw some Black Bears!
Such a fun day…….stay tuned for Day 2…….
