We decided to book a family tour. We loaded up on on an open bus. We had a delightful guide who was a former teacher and principal. She was funny, but more importantly full of knowledge! She held the children's attention for the full 2 hours we were on the bus!
Our first encounter were the amazing giraffes. We had a special treat in that there was a new baby giraffe on the scene and it was her first day to be out in the open for the public to see her.
Next we visited the Zebras! Our guide told us not to try to hand feed the Zebras as they have been known to bite. Aren't they gorgeous???
These cheatahs were incredible and the story our guide told of how they mate is equally amazing.

Despite our guides efforts, Mr. Ostrich was not interested in the people zoo trying to feed him.

We were so lucky, they did not charge us for Kaya to come along.
The tour is about 2.5 hours long depending on traffic in the park. I liked the family tour in that
my kids could move around. They were able to move freely from one side of the bus to the other
to see and feed the animals.
Our driver was very good to stop and wait until the animals came to us. In most cases they eventually came. The only downside to taking the tour bus, is there is not bathroom stop! If you tour the park in a car, you start at the bottom and stop halfway. The tour groups start at the top and circle back around.
The family tour prices includes a cup of food for each family member. So we had
plenty of food to throw out to the animals.
I highly recommend this adventure and look forward to booking another adventure next school year as well! They do offer lots of homeschool opportunities.
